CHARDONNAY Amsela d'Oro Trentino DOC
PRODUCTION AREA
The grapes are grown on selected vineyards situated on the hillsides around the town of Trento; the ideal exposure of the vineyards (south-west), the sandy and chalky soil and the huge temperature difference between day and night give us the chance to obtain high quality grapes and an elegant and complex wine.
WINEMAKING AND AGEING.
The grapes are harvested by hand. Once in the winery they are de-stemmed and allowed to cold macerate for a few hours before they are gently pressed. The juice is then chilled, cleared by natural sedimentation, racked, inoculated with selected yeasts and it undergoes the fermentation under temperature control (15-16°C) in stainless steel tanks and partially in used French oak barriques. The wine ages for a few months on the fine lees and is then blended and prepared for the bottling.
DESCRIPTION
Straw yellow in colour, intensive and fruity on the nose, with hints of banana and apple. Well balanced in the mouth, savoury, complex and inviting. The wine shows an elegant structure.
PAIRING
Ideal as aperitif, this wine fits very well with fish, white meat and delicate first courses.
Serving temperature 10-12°C.
