Grape variety
This grape variety originated in the Rhine or Mosel and it was introduced in Italy during the 19th century; in Trentino Alto Adige, in some specific selected areas, Riesling has found very good growing conditions which enable him to give expression to its most distinctive characteristics.
Riesling is a frost resistant grape variety and it grows very well in cooler climates, with a good sun presence; for this reason it gives very good results on vineyards situated on the hillsides around Trento, at an altitude of 500 m above sea level, with a good sun exposure.
WINEMAKING
After a short cold maceration, the grapes are softly pressed, so that we can extract the must without breaking the skins. After the racking the juice undergoes the fermentation in stainless steel tanks under temperature control.
The wine ages for at least 6 months on the fine lees before it is prepared for the bottling.
