1339 Merlot Trentino Doc

Trentino
Denominazione di origine protetta
GRAPE VARIETY
Original of Burgundy, this grape is nowadays widespread all over the world. If it finds good growing conditions, this grape can give excellent results.

PRODUCTION AREA
In the central part of  Trentino, on south-facing vineyards with gravelly and alluvial soils on both sides of the river Adige we have the best weather conditions which allow an optimal maturation of the grapes.

WINEMAKING
The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed and the juice undergoes the fermentation for 8-10 days with the temperature kept at  at 30°C. With a further week of maceration on the skins we can extract sweet tannins and a maximum of colour. Once the malolactic fermentation is over  the wine matures in wood for one year or longer.

DESCRIPTION
Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, on the nose notes of spices and red berry fruits; well balanced on the palate, elegant, with soft tannins.
